Borrowing Ebooks and Audiobooks with Sora

OverDrive now has Sora, an app and website just for K-12 students and families.

Sora has many features, plus an easier-reading font, that are designed just for students!

Sora works with iOS, Android and Kindle devices, and all web browsers.

If you hit a snag using Sora with your device, email Anna for troubleshooting help.

You can discover ebooks & audiobook on the Sora app(free download for mobile devices here), or on a web browser at http://soraapp.com

Step 1

Get your Paideia Library login information from Anna.

Step 2

On a mobile device (iPhone, iPad or other mobile tablet) install the Sora app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store, or the 'Meet Sora' page.

On a desktop or laptop computer, go to Soraapp.com in your web browser (Safari, Chrome, Firefox or other)

Step 3

In Sora, search for and select Paideia School (we are part of the MISBO consortium), then sign in with your Paideia Library ID & password.

You will land on the Home page -- this is your personal dashboard showing your checkouts and anything assigned by a teacher.

Step 4

Click the Explore button (the binoculars icon at the bottom of the screen) to search for and borrow a book. When checked out, your book will open so you can start reading right away, or you can come back to it later.

Step 5

Close the book and go to your Shelfto see all your books (including assignments). From there, you can:

Select Open Book or Open Audiobook to read or listen to the book.
Select Options to renew or return the book, see your notes and highlights, and more.

Note

You can checkout on one device, and download to another (for instance, use a computer to check out an audiobook, and then download it to the app on a phone so you can listen while moving around)
